CancerCare - offers financial assistance, and practical help to people with cancer and their loved ones. Financial assistance is given in the form of limited grants for certain treatment expenses. Services are provided by oncology social workers and are available in person, over the telephone, and through the agency's Web site. A section of the CancerCare Web site and some publications are available in Spanish, and staff can respond to calls and e-mails in Spanish. The Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer Treatment Act
In most states it provides Medicaid coverage for treatment to women who have been screened for and diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer, including precancerous conditions, through the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - Offers financial aid to patients in significant financial need who have leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma or multiple myeloma. The Ethyol Protect Program is a toll-free service that provides assistance to healthcare providers with coding and coverage verification, claims submissions, and appeals for Ethyol® (amifostine). Commitment to Access
Patients who have been prescribed TYKERB and have no insurance coverage may be eligible to receive TYKERB free of charge if they live in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia and their income is at or below 500 percent of the federal poverty level (For example, $68,450 for a household of two. Income eligibility is adjusted for household size). For patients enrolled in a Medicare Part D plan, eligibility also requires documentation of $600 in expenditures on prescription medicines in the current calendar year. Patients who are eligible for Medicare and who have incomes below 135 percent of the federal poverty level may not be eligible for GSK's patient assistance programs if they qualify for full assistance under Medicare.

Jeff Apodaca Celebration of Life Scholarship (NM)
The Jeff Apodaca Celebration of Life Scholarship is awarded to pediatric cancer survivors who were treated at one of the UNM Hospitals and who are attending a New Mexico college or university. Jonathan Jackson Cancer Survivors Scholarship (NC)
The Jonathan Jackson Cancer Survivors Scholarship of $500 is awarded annually by the Mount Airy Community Foundation to cancer survivors and current cancer patients from North Carolina. The Mount Airy Community Foundation can be reached at 1-888-375-8117.

Jay’s World Childhood Cancer Foundation (NY)
Jay’s World Childhood Cancer Foundation Inc. has a college scholarship program for children with cancer living in New York. The Stephen T. Marchello Scholarship Foundation provides college scholarships of up to $2,500 a year for four years to high school graduates who are cancer survivors. The Maryland Community Cancer Scholarship (MD)
The Maryland Community Cancer Scholarship provides a $2,500 scholarship to college students who were diagnosed with cancer or who have lost a parent to cancer or whose parent is currently fighting cancer. The diagnosis must have occurred when the applicant was between the ages of 15 and 35, and the applicant must be age 35 or younger at the time of application. Applicants must be Maryland residents. The Ryan Mullaly Second Chance Fund (US)
The Ryan Mullaly Second Chance Fund offers a $1,000 scholarship for cancer survivors. Candidates must be US citizens or permanent residents, have been diagnosed with cancer between the ages of 13 and 20, and currently be age 25 or younger. LIFE Lessons Essay Contest for Students
The Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education is sponsoring a scholarship for college-bound high school seniors and current college students, ages 17-24, who have suffered the death of a parent or guardian. Candidates must submit a written essay of up to 500 words or a short three-minute video essay about how the loss affected them emotionally and financially. The essay should indicate whether having (or not having) life, health and other forms of insurance helped stabilize family finances and cover college costs.
